w...o.........r...........................k

At work sometimes its hard to do things when there are several small tasks that add up to completion. So... a product never arrives. Or at least thats the way its seems.
so...
checking out a few PhD programs, however, so far it doesn't look like it will start next year.
work? fun? volunteer? move? hmmm. In other news I want to renew my spanish skills.

its hard to be a vagabond ...

its hard to be a vagabond ...(thanks elton john for exposing me to the word vagabond) when you have a lot of stuff. Just used my brand new food processor (props to K's aunt) and it was totally awesome, made some 'sweet' hummus, screw doing that in a blender or puny, low-horsepower small food processor. Frickin sweet, for real. 14 cups say what!

i just went through a bunch of old reciepts and recalled some stuff through purchases and then tossed the reciepts. not trying to be a baglady.

Hello Ween

Halloween. or the saturday before halloween came and went last nite. i was kermit the frog. and K was miss piggy. no too many contenders in the way of better costumes, not too sound glib, but there weren' t too many true blue halloween heads out there.

nostalgia or just nice?

Music holds memories. So when I hear a song like aphex twin's "four" or nirvana's "drain you" and I get flushed, is it good music or good memories. Probably both.

Note to self listen to more music.

Video games & gravy

Lately, I have been playing video games for the SNES platform, namely Mortal Kombat II and Super Mario Kart. I remember when MKII came out in 1993 and how much I swore at that game and my inability to beat most of my friends. Actually, I was never very good at most video games, which I haven't really thought about in a while.

I have recently acquired some new kitchen tools and have allowed a dichotomy to arise in my cooking: simple / gourmet. I either try to reduce the amount of ingredients as much as possible or I try to make everything fancy and better than your $15 a plate vegetarian restaurant. I don't usually broadcast my recipes because like an elderly person at a bake sale I want mine to be best.

Halloween is soon upon us and I am going to be Kermit the frog and K - miss piggy.

'general park infraction'

To Whom it may concern:

This letter is to address uniform law citation 373393. I would like to admit responsibility with explanation and a question. On the date, July 6, 2002, I failed to comply with a park sign at the Warren Dunes State Park. I was in excess of 10 miles per hour in a motorized vehicle in Beach Lot #2, this I admit to but my claim is that I was not travelling at the 25 m.p.h. as stated on my ticket. I haven't a problem with making amends for an infraction which I have committed, but i believe there may be some error in the ticket. To summarize, this ticket, number 373393, states that I was exceeding the posted speed limit by 15 miles per hour, or 25 m.p.h in a 10 m.p.h. zone. At the time of this infraction the officer, Robert S., operating from the vehicle with license plate number 20166, stated that he would not give me a moving violation, but rather an infraction for my failure to comply with a park rule. At this juncture, believing that I was not going to receive a moving violation, I did not ask to see the radar reading or other method of determining my speed while I operated this motor vehicle. Even though at this time I felt that there was an error in my supposed speed, that is to say I was not traveling at 25 m.p.h. on July the 6th at 5 pm. Upon a communication via telephone to the 5th District Court Magistrate, completed on Monday the 8th of July, in which I conversed with Sue, she was at the time unable to tell me the fine amount, upon which I was told to retry telephonic communication in the future, possibly later that same day. Due to certain employment restrictions, I was not able to complete an additional phone call to the aforementioned magistrate's office until July the 12th, on this date, Sue was still not able to deliver to me the quantity of the fine, I was informed that she return my call and inform me of the charges. Sue returned my call the same day and told me that the fine was $70.00 (USD), also I was informed that the amount of the fine was contingent upon the speed in excess of the posted speed. When I was informed of this, I decided to write this letter, because I believe that I was going less than reported 25 m.p.h as stated on my uniform law citation, number 373393. Radar detection not being used, I was curious as to what type of speed detection was being employed at its percent error. I assume that other modes of detection have higher percent errors than radar detection and radar, while usually accurate has recognized flaws. The amount of this fine was determined by the speed, I was reported in excess of, perhaps a different speed recorded on my infraction would have led to a different fine amount, also if this 25 m.p.h notation is in error, as I believe, than the ticket has been written wrong as well.

Thank you kindly for your time, if I am found to be guilty of travelling at 25 m.p.h. then I will be asked to pay the $70.00 (USD), according to Sue, which I will pay.

Once upon a time I wrote the above letter in response to a 'general park infraction'. You'll notice that it is littered with grammar and style errors. I'll have you know that as a result of this letter the fine was reduced by $20.00 USD

Dinner

Today I went to Orchard Downs to visit the ladies who sell produce by the road way. Everything one dollar. I bought some greens and some green onions. The greens were awfully bitter and I couldn't eat them. The green onions delicious.
{This fridge sat on my grandpa's farm for awhile.}

A vegetarian recipe follows: Hodge-Podge-disappointed-with-the-produce-from-old-ladies stew thingy:
150z can of black beans
3/4 C pineapple juice
4 "rings" pineapple diced
1/2 C BBQ sauce
1/4 C green onions chopped
1 C green beans
handful peanuts; raisins
dash of red pepper flakes
sprinkle of oregano
1 tsp chipotle powder
1 T Margerine
1 T chopped garlic
cook together

served with quinoa made with vegetable broth

it tasted good, but it sounds gross right?

things are begining to be never the same again ...

Mr. F sez adieu to CU.
In a few hours B leaves, in a few days Farsh and a few weeks Onur. the end of an era? or the beginning of something anew. how the adult world becomes so scary as it approaches and how rapidly. Will we be leaving for greener pastures? I hope so. But not too green, right?

Smelling the pickle.

The USA-ins were able to hold their own against the Russians in the vodka / light Russian dinner activities.

To drink the vodka properly:
1. Inhale
2. Half-Exhale
3. Swallow the vodka
4. Smell the pickle
5. Long Exhale
6. Eat the pickle
7. Eat some more dinner items
8. Repeat

Other highlights included the "pickle under pressure" aka i got hit in the face with pickle juice that squirted out the pickle and onto the wall and my face, riding bikes, water wars, amongst other shenanigans.

the check is in the mail.

today i looked through my check register. It goes back to late 2001 and even though I dont balance and my comments are sometimes obtuse, it is sort of interesting to see the story that is told by those entries. Like my lucrative, but short lived watch band business, the parking tickets I've got, or the cd's I sold for todd. Fun times with an inane task. hooray.

The demolition derby. We went to a derby this weekend. And besides the obvious environmental hazards associated with this , it was fun. No need to describe the allure of crashing machines, but it is important to note that the people watching at these events can be just as exciting.

in the begining

I don't think about the begining of life - the very start. How did rocks become beings? And then from here what if humanoids, were green and synthesized their own food? Then what? Could you imagine a life with out the need to eat? Would get the same sensation from standing in the sun and pounding some mineral water as we would from chomping on some deep dish?

Minutes

Lately, I have no sense of motivation or routine. And as much as I want stability - that is, claiming stakes - at times can simmer with bubbles of caution. I feel like I should consume as much as possible of the world, yet lately my appetite has been small. Obviously we rely on each other for shared experiences to gain more knowledge of the world, yet its hard to pick and choose what experiences I should experience for you, for me. With that said my recent inability to complete tasks is lame, but not lame enough for me to take any marked action. I am now in search of new hobby. When does inaction lead to revoultion? Maybe Patch would know.

down the drain?

motivation.
mo-ti-va-tion.

Some say the showing is up is the majority of a job.
I show up but have trouble getting anything done. It's hard out here for a scientist without the umph needed to start, I feel like if I can just start down that hill, then everything will 'fall'ow through.

In other news, I noticed my first baby zuke in my garden today. Ah, the wonders of world.

I O U

I want to do everything at the same time that I want to do nothing. Nothing often wins. Its easier, like water taking the easiest course, cut banks and such. I want to "work out" & "work, while at 'work'" but its easier not to. As I said before I want to get into habitats. I have gotten into the habit of not getting into habits. So I guess that didn't really work, and I only ate that oatmeal once. so ...

Lately . . .

Lately, I have desired a routine. Which seems awfully weird. I mean usually I, we, you know, are scared of a routine, of the "Same shit, different day" mantra that many of us use or live by or feel. I mean I think about the idea of a routine, like eating the same breakfast every morning; or something. I am thinking about the possible pleasantries associated with acquiring the mundane. However, I can't even remember to take my vitamins.

consumer or be consumed.

actually i do both.
my favorite-ish website is passwird
and google news.
if i am not consuming i am being consumed, and even though recent uncharacterstic events lead to my current (being) consumption if it wasn't that it'd be something else.

so - where does end or start?
a circle complete with or without you.
